RenFaire Highlander Oil Painting 36 x 24 $1,495 Another treasure from my husband’s treasure trove of images. He photographed an actor portraying a Scottish highlander at the Renaissance Pleasure Faire in Northern California. I don’t think the actor really had anything to do with the bevy of maidens behind him, but it came out looking as though he was defending his harem. I couldn’t resist painting the play of light and shadow, and his challenging expression was a challenge to my paint brush. I altered a few details (a Starbucks cup became a pewter tankard, etc.), and took everybody right back to the 15th Century. You can just tell he’s a baaaad boy. |
